Privacy Policy

In short:Recensa reads your Stripe data on a read-only basis to show you revenue analytics and help you recover payments. We use your data to provide the Service, we don’t sell it, and we share it only with the providers needed to run Recensa. You can disconnect Stripe or delete your account at any time.

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Recensa (“Recensa,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information in connection with the Recensa website, applications, and services (the “Service”). It applies to information we process as the controller of your account and as a processor of the Stripe data you connect.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details such as your email address and password (passwords are stored in hashed form by our authentication provider).
  • Billing information you provide when you subscribe, handled by our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers).
  • Messages you send us, such as support requests.

Stripe data you connect

When you connect your Stripe account, we access transaction and subscription data on a read-only basis — for example, subscriptions, plans, invoices, charges, customer identifiers and names, payment statuses, and card expiration signals — so we can compute your metrics and identify at-risk or failed payments. We do not receive full card numbers, and we do not move money or modify your Stripe account.

Information collected automatically

Like most online services, we collect limited technical information such as log data, device and browser information, and usage events, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.

3. How we use information

  • To provide the Service — compute analytics, generate explanations and briefings, and surface recoverable payments;
  • To send recovery and briefing emails that you configure or trigger;
  • To create and manage your account, process subscriptions, and provide support;
  • To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations; and
  • To maintain and improve the Service, including troubleshooting and analytics.

4. How the Service handles your numbers

Recensa computes your metrics deterministically from your connected data. Where the Service generates written explanations or briefings, those narratives are checked against the underlying figures before they are shown or sent. We describe this because it reflects how your data is processed — your figures drive the output rather than the other way around.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers. With vendors that help us run the Service, including Stripe (payments and data access), our hosting and database providers, and our email delivery provider. These providers may process your information only to provide services to us.
  • Legal and safety. When required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Recensa, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

6. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter as needed to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you disconnect Stripe, we stop accessing new Stripe data; previously computed data may persist until you delete your account or request deletion.

7. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive credentials such as the tokens used to access your connected account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.

8. Your choices

  • Disconnect Stripe at any time from your settings to stop further data access.
  • Access, correct, or delete your account information by using your settings or contacting us.
  • Close your account at any time; contact us if you would like your associated data deleted.
  • Email preferences — operational emails (such as those you trigger) are part of the Service; you control the recovery and briefing emails you send.

9. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. United States

Recensa is based in the United States and the Service is intended for users in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your location.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
